Shalom and welcome to the blog. This has been a dream of mine for years, but I never felt called and equipped enough to fully pursue it. However, after spending a lot of time with friends and in prayer, I finally felt the calling. So here we are!

My name is Kelsay Parrott and I am honored to have you here. Let me explain a little about this place and why it is called what it is. Healing a Burned Soul comes from the journey I have been blessed to have endured. I endured a burn injury that left over half of my body with physical scars and my mind with memories that no child should ever have to have, especially at the age of four. My doctors were amazing at treating the external wounds and making sure my body was as functional as possible. Nevertheless, I felt burned in my soul. I felt the edges of my soul and my spirit experiencing pain that felt like a smoldering fire from embers left behind. It was not until I made the choice to fight back that I found healing in my soul. I endured a lot to get to where I am today from the burn injury to assault, bullying to self-hate, self-harm to suicide attempts, friendships ending to deaths in the family, and so much more. But there have also been some amazing events such as graduations to moving, different jobs to new friends, church to worship events, and so much more! What an amazing and beautiful reminder that God does not give out hard lives but uses the hard things to propel us to the great things ahead.

Healing a Burned Soul explores that journey. There will be writings about my own journey that God has sent me on. There will also be motivational posts about various topics and events that occur. The idea of this is to create a safe space for everyone to come, listen, and read about resilience in its many forms, and take what they need with them. It is here to provide a little more positivity and strength in a world that needs it more than ever.

So sit back, relax, and read. Thank you for being here, and I pray God uses this for His glory.

Sincerely, Kelsay

Welcome! I’m truly honored to have you here. This blog was born from a deep desire to inspire and uplift others, serving as a beacon of hope in challenging times. As a trauma survivor, I have had my fair share of challenges and obstacles. However, there was a reason I made it through each and every one of those moments. I always say, if I can help just one person with anything I have been through, then all the pain is worth it. Afterall, this is His Story not mine
