It seems simple, doesn't it? But too often, we make it a challenge. We chase after the next best thing, always longing to get the most out of every situation. But what if your "thing," your calling, or your season is exactly where you are right now?

I get it. There’s a deep longing for more. After all, we were made for more. But what if we need to be okay with the slower pace? What if we could simply focus on being present in the moment? In my own life right now, that looks like how I approach my work. I have my degrees in Ministry—both undergraduate and graduate—and yet, I work at a greenhouse. I’m a customer service rep at a wholesaler. I love my job, and I love the people I work with. But sometimes, I forget who I am and what God has called me to do. I feel like I’m letting Him down.

But I remind myself: I’m not. Even when it feels like I am.

Then, days like yesterday and today come along. I was invited to attend a Crop Growing Expo for work. It meant two full days of talking with people, having conversations, selling, and—ultimately—joyful learning. I walked through the booths, introduced myself to people I email often, and built new relationships with customers and vendors. It was such an enriching experience. But that’s when it hit me.

In that space, I was being a light.

I was immersed in my current season, in where I was at that moment. It was such a blessing, and it deeply connected me with God in the midst of it all. It wasn’t just a work event or a task to check off. No, I felt that God wanted me right there, right then, and I was fulfilling my purpose in that season.

There is always going to be another thing to do, another place to go, or a way to escape. Life is full of distractions and desires that pull us in different directions. But when you learn to immerse yourself so deeply and fully in your current situation, allowing yourself to experience it with the essence of God’s presence already in you, something shifts. That longing for something more will either be of God, His prompting to move you forward, or it will be something to forget about altogether. When we truly seek Him and rest in His presence, those distractions fade, and we can discern His voice more clearly.

I think it’s easy to get caught up in what we think we should be doing. We imagine that fulfillment comes from being in the "right" job, the "right" place, or the "right" season. But God can use us where we are right now, even in unexpected places.

So, I ask you: Where do you need to be immersed? Where do you need to let go of expectations and simply rest in who God is and trust that He has you right where He wants you?

Remember, the Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:11-13:

"Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

Let’s be open to the season we’re in, trusting that God is using it for His purpose.

Welcome! I’m truly honored to have you here. This blog was born from a deep desire to inspire and uplift others, serving as a beacon of hope in challenging times. As a trauma survivor, I have had my fair share of challenges and obstacles. However, there was a reason I made it through each and every one of those moments. I always say, if I can help just one person with anything I have been through, then all the pain is worth it. Afterall, this is His Story not mine
