Heartbeat Purpose

Place your hand over your heartbeat—your wrist, your neck, your chest. Be still for a moment… and feel it. Like really feel it. Do not move past this moment quick. Now take a few deep breaths before you finish here.
That steady rhythm beneath your skin is not an accident. It is not meaningless. It is breath given. It is life sustained. It is purpose, still unfolding. Just imagine, this is something that Never stops until your purpose is done. It beats and beats, day in and day out.
Scripture tells us that God breathed life into dust—and ever since, every heartbeat has echoed that same truth: you are here on purpose, for a purpose. Whether you believe in the scriptures or not, there is purpose in your heartbeat. You are here for a purpose, on purpose.
I have known days where I wished that rhythm would stop. Days where the weight of living felt heavier than anything I could carry. Moments where darkness closed in so tightly I could hardly breathe, let alone believe there was beauty left to see.
But I have also known the light. Days where joy felt like it overflowed from my very soul. Moments so full of life that I didn’t want them to end. Times where I could feel, so clearly, that I was not just alive—but held.
And somewhere between those two places… most of us live.
So where are you today?
Are you weary? Are you fighting to see even a glimpse of light?Or are you standing in joy, feeling the warmth of it all?
Wherever you are, pause again. Feel that heartbeat.
That is God’s quiet reminder: “I’m not finished with you.”
If you don't believe in God, then it is your own reminder that there is more to come.
Your purpose is not gone because the day is hard. Your calling is not erased because the night feels long. If your heart is still beating, then grace is still reaching, and your story is still being written.
So today, don’t measure your purpose by how you feel. Measure it by the simple, steady truth beneath your hand— You are still here. And that… is enough to keep going.
